Udang Harimau

Udang Harimau is a delicious crispy prawn dish with a strong chilli kick. Why not try the Awana recipe for yourself.

Steps

1. Split the prawn tails lengthways, keeping the end attached, and remove the black line.

2. Use one egg and beat it in a cup, coat the tails in egg then roll in the potato flour.

3. In a wok with hot vegetable oil fry the tails till cooked and slightly crispy, set aside.

4. Remove the oil from the wok and wipe out, return back to the heat and gently melt the butter.

5. Add the curry leaves and finely chopped chilli (adjust to your own requirements) and gently cook without colour. If curry leaves are not available fresh use the dried ones and rehydrate before use.

6. Pour in the other egg and add the coconut.

7. Stir till combined and starting to colour, add the milk and mix

8. Place your tails on a plate and pour the mixture over.

9. Serve with steamed fragrant rice.
